Class schedule for Zoom

Monday 4:30 pm

Wednesday 4:00 pm

Saturday 9:30 am

Everyone is welcome to join our Zoom classes. Please email me for the links.

The links will stay the same for Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Class is recorded and available for the following 24 hours. Email for that link as they change each class.

Monday Get It and Go 4:30 pm

This class will support you to build strength and get your heart rate up. Big fun. As always, you take it at whatever pace is best for you.

Wednesday Nia 4:00 pm
This is Whatever Wednesday. We do whatever we need. Mid-week is a good place to assess if we need stimulation or calming, if we want mental focus or emotional release.

Thursday Night Nia 6:00 pm is on hiatus. We keep it low-key as we wind down from work. Music and moves are designed to get us into a groove where we watch our screens less, drop into our sensations, and calm our nervous systems.

Friday Morning Wake Up is on hiatus. Increase mobility, alertness, confidence, happiness, super powers, and whatever you need to get you through your day.

Saturday Morning Sweat 9:30 am
After a warm up designed to wake both our bodies and brains, we're ready to get moving. This class builds our strength and cardiovascular fitness, and our focus is on having all the fun.

If this is your first class, we give you an especially big welcome. When you’re not sure which steps I’m taking, it’s okay to make up your own. Most steps repeat enough that you have time to figure them out and then get creative with them. Enjoy being in your body.

Class fees

Paying whatever works for you, including no payment, is always an option. Dance as frequently as your body and spirit wish, and pay what is comfortable and healthy for you right now.

You’re welcome to share a class card with partners and family members.

How to Pay for Classes

Use your credit card via Square. This also connects to Google Pay. Go to https://beth-oneall.square.site/

PayPal or Venmo to my .mac email address.

Checks and cash work too. Email me for additional information.

Students who already have a class card for Studio Sway may use that card.

Maximize Your Zoom Experience

Before class:

Put everything except the device you're using on Airplane mode. The only thing using WiFi should be the device you’re using to stream your Zoom class. Use a cable to hardwire your device into your modem if  your WiFi isn’t strong enough.

Turn off other programs (mail, messages, your browser) so your computer is running only Zoom.

You’ll start in a waiting room. If you’re joining after class has begun, there may be a delay until I can get to the computer to admit you.

Your mic will be muted when you join class. Use the Chat function to communicate.

Some students are enjoying connecting their device to a large screen TV or to an external speaker. Try bluetooth headphones for more sound directly in your ears.

Add a carpet, mat, or shoes if your floor is cold or hard.  It’s especially nice to have something, such as a blanket, for a few minutes of floor time at the end of class.

During class:

If you don't have a good connection, turn off your video.

Sometimes, if there isn’t sound or there’s a poor connection, it helps to leave class and enter again.

You can control your volume on your computer settings and also in the Zoom preferences.

After class:

After class, we unmute, go to Gallery mode, and say hello for a few minutes. It feels awesome to connect. As with all Nia classes, you’re welcome to join and leave whenever it works for you.

****************

We are looking forward to returning to classes at the beautiful Studio Sway, 1100 San Mateo Blvd. NE at Lomas. We're in the Courtyards Center, downstairs from ACE Hardware, and across from Quarter Celtic.  Studio Sway features a sprung floor, which is easy on our legs, and a superior sound system for an exceptional class experience.

Things to know about classes at Studio Sway:

  • All classes are an hour.
  • You don't have to be on time. With Nia, you're always on time. Come when you can and leave when you need to.  It's all good.
  • Wear something you can groove, move, and sweat in. Nia is taught barefoot; however, some students wear soft, clean, and flexible shoes.
  • You do not need to preregister or let me know you're coming. Drop ins are fine. I'll ask you to sign a standard release waiver at your first class.
  • Every class is different. The moves, the music, the intensity, the focus and the experience is different every time.

Class Fees for Studio Sway

Drop in $10.00 includes tax

10 classes  $75 + tax = $80

20 classes $140 + tax = $150

Pay What You Wish is always an option.

Cash, check, credit cards, and PayPal are accepted. There is an additional $3 fee for the credit card transactions.

Things to know about class cards:

  • Members of the same household are invited to share a class card.
  • If you are bringing a friend or family member from out of town, you may use your class card for that person.
  • All class cards are frozen while the studio is closed.
  • The Nia community at Studio Sway has a scholarship card fund called Every Body Dances. This is for anyone who, for whatever reason, is stressed about money and would like support in order to take classes. Contact any of the Nia teachers, and we’ll get you set up.
